koh Chang Archipelago
See holidays and uncontamined nature
Koh Chang (literally "island of the elephants") is the main island of the homonymous archipelago, which is located about 280 km from Bangkok, in the quiet province of Trat.
Coming from the capital, you will also have the opportunity to pass through the provincial capital of Chantaburi, which is the most important mining and trade center for precious stones in all of Thailand. Hat Lek, the southernmost town in the province of Trat, marks the border with Cambodia. For this reason it is an excellent starting point for excursions in the neighboring country and for splendid tours to Siem Reap to discover the magical Angkot Wat (UNESCO heritage). In addition to a good number of local markets, the town of Trat offers the tourist a perfect starting point for visiting the Thai islands of Koh Chang, Koh Mak, Koh Kood and Koh Wai.
The Koh Chang archipelago is instead made up of more than 70 islands and islets (most of which are still uninhabited). The main island, which gave its name to the archipelago, is 492 km long and is the second island in Thailand. Here you will find one of the most beautiful and unspoilt parks in all of Thailand.
Koh Chang National Park occupies about 200 km2 of land area and more than 450 square km of marine waters. A true earthly paradise as well as one of the last virgin and uncontaminated places in Thailand. The island of Koh Chang, not surprisingly is still covered for more than 80% by a lush and intact rainforest. One of the best preserved forests not only in Thailand, but throughout Southeast Asia.
The hinterland of Koh Chang is very varied indeed. You will pass from mountains and jungle to the hills. From steep cliffs to white sandy beaches. Nor will there be choreographic waterfalls, lakes and rivers that descend to an emerald sea. In the beautiful forest of Koh Chang, you can admire severed tailed macaques, Indian owls, mongoose from Java, varans of land and water, reticulated pythons, deer and wild boar. As well as numerous species of birds, including parrots, hawks and eagles. The sea is rich in coral reefs that host fish of every kind and color. Koh Chang began to develop only a few years ago due to its proximity to Cambodia, a country that underwent the terrible Kmer Rouge regime until the early 1990s.

On the island of Koh Chang you will find long white sand beaches and small pristine bays such as Ao Khlong Son, Hat Sai Khao, Ao Khlong Phrao, Hat Sai Khao, Ao Khlong Pkhlong Phrao, Kat Kaibe, Ao Bang Bao, Ao Salak Phet and Lonely Beach.
But the island of Koh Chang as well as neighboring Koh Mak and the Marine Park of Koh Rang, offer above all an alternative destination for beach holidays in Thailand. A destination for those who want to explore beautiful places that are not crowded with tourists.
Underwater sports
For those who love snorkeling and diving Koh Chang is a real paradise! The best time to visit the archipelago is between November and April. These are the months in which it is possible to enjoy the best climate and the best visibility in the water.
The most interesting areas for snorkeling are between the islands and islets that you will find between the southern tip of Koh Chang and that of Koh Kood. Here you will also find two submarine pinnacles covered with coral (Hin Luk Bat and Hin Lap): a unique and spectacular backdrop of about 20 m. Further south, the Koh Rang Marine Park awaits you, where you can watch sea turtles in their natural environment. The islands surrounding Koh Rang are, not surprisingly one of the last reproductive areas of these magnificent animals.

Vacation in Koh Chang
In addition to a magnificent sea, the island of Koh Chang offers a territory suitable for long exploratory walks, inland trekking, visits to the numerous waterfalls and elephant rides. You will find the most beautiful beaches of Koh Chang on the western part of the island: this is where most of the hotels and tourist complexes are concentrated. Among the various beaches we point out White Sand Beach, Kai Bae and Lonely Beach.
In addition to the beach life and the numerous hiking opportunities, the island of Koh Chang offers a wide choice of typical restaurants (especially in the fishing village of Bang Bao), numerous pubs and bars with excellent live music, and often lively parties on the beach (especially in White Sand Beach and in Lonely Beach). Furthermore, there are small discos, various souvenir shops and, finally, typical Thai markets where you can buy all kinds of objects (typical local handicrafts, watches, designer clothes). Do not miss then, before your return, the experience of a traditional Thai massage and curious Thai cooking classes. Further south of Koh Chang you will also find the small island of Koh Wai, a delightful resort surrounded by lively and multicolored coral reefs, to which you can dedicate pleasant dives.
Our tours are designed and created for tourists and travelers who want to savor the authenticity of the places they visit, respecting local traditions and the best accommodation facilities.
